So I'm just about done with my second short story, which is currently being called "A young man with very old scars." In it I'm trying to explore another side of the heroic figure, not one thats all for heroic combat and daring feets, but someone who has some other superhuman element that can still make him great. So I took a part of my charictar Terran and broke it away from his entirity, and called my new charictar Int.
What are the things that make a man heroic? That's the question. Sure, we're all heroic in a sense, but I'm talking about a true hero. I figured that a hero has to have something about him that exceeds all other beings. A virtue, a flaw, maybe just an atribute. Maybe what makes him a hero is that he has an irrational hatred for a certain race. This trait would lead him towards a series of events that would mold him faster and more harshly than any other course. Either way, men are either born heros, thrust into their trials due to past events, or they can ascend and choose to become heros.
In my story I talk about Int, a mysterious healer who is trying to aleviate the burden of the human race through medicine and pass along his technique to Celas, his student and the narator. The plot focuses on Celas' attempt to discover the true nature of his master as he delves into the topics of religion, duty, life and death, sacrifice, and humanity.
I should be done in a week. I hope you guys will like it.
-The same story, eternally retold through a thousand heros, transending time and the world itself.-
